Seventeen-year-old Cami Nelson and her older sister Rachel have parents that really stand out in their small Iowa town. Their obsessions with adopting other religions, unique antiques, and some rather odd practices put them all in a rather uncomfortable spotlight.
But when their mom and dad vanish without a trace, Cami and Rachel discover their disappearance was influenced by more than just a new antique shop—it was supernatural. As they embark to rescue their parents, they decide to follow the only hints they have—odd occult relics stashed away in a study and advice from an estranged and eclectic aunt.
The road will be hard, and the odds against them. Cami and Rachel will undergo weeks of exhausting travel, meeting mysterious “experts,” and grueling fights with monsters of another world—all to save the parents they realize they never truly knew . . .
Myja is a doer, dreamer, and coffee-drinker. She fell in love with literature as a young child, and felt the pull towards authorship in her early teen years, both of which led her to study English at South Dakota State. During her university career, Myja served as President of SDSU’s English Club and worked for the South Dakota Humanities Council for two book festivals.
A lover of words, she is planning to publish her debut novel soon (announcements to come!). In the meantime, she spends her time knitting, reading, and taking long walks with her husband.
